Rose Valley and Red Valley offer some of the best views, as the area was formed due to volcanic activity, so the landscape is pretty dramatic, to say the least. What To Pack When Visiting Cappadocia

What to pack when you visit Cappadocia really depends on when you’re going. The weather in this region of Turkey isn’t quite as hot as on the south coast during the summer months, but it’s still hot, and there is little rain to come by.

So, if you’re visiting from June to early September, it’s best to pack light clothing, such as linen pants, shorts, and t-shirts. You’ll unlikely need a light jacket in the evenings, but you will undoubtedly need comfortable shoes. Cappadocia is not a place for sandals or flip-flops – you need quality sneakers at the very least, and if possible, good walking boots.

If you’re visiting during winter, you will need a thick coat, hat, scarf, gloves, and good boots. Cappadocia gets very cold at this time of year (between November and even March), and you can expect snow.

If you’re visiting in the spring or autumn, this time of year can be very changeable, so layers are recommended! A light jacket is probably all you’ll need if you’re visiting in late September into early October or May, but it’s all about footwear.

Taking A Trip From Istanbul To Cappadocia

One of the most popular ways to visit Cappadocia is to take a trip from Istanbul. You’ll find countless organized trips heading in this direction, or you can book flights and buses yourself.

Most people find three days is enough, but you can extend your stay if you want to. A flight from Istanbul to Nevsehir takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the bus to Cappadocia from there is around half an hour, depending upon traffic.
