Captain America: Brave New World is the first movie featuring Sam Wilson as Captain America, and while not flawless it provides Marvel fans with a more grounded film reminiscent of The Winter Soldier.
Anthony Mackie is great as he always is, and he finally gets to shine as the lead of a film. Harrison Ford also gives a solid performance as Thaddeus Ross.
The action scenes were top-notch, and the special effects were good, which shouldn't be surprising considering's it's 2025, but you'll know it's worth mentioning if you've seen Ant-Man 3.
Yes it is flawed, some of the plotlines are all over the place, and the pacing can be a bit off at times. It's definitely not as good as The Winter Soldier or even The First Avenger but all in all the film delivered a solid action superhero experience, and if you're willing to accept Sam Wilson as the new Captain America, then this film shouldn't disappoint.
7/10 - Good.

Skeleton Crew is an entertaining series set in the Star Wars universe, and appeals to audiences of all ages.
Unlike other Star Wars shows, this one is entirely standalone, so no other series or movies are necessary to watch before it, which should be refreshing for casual fans who are used to shows that get bogged down in so much lore.
Jude Law gives an excellent performance, as do all four lead children. The CGI is pretty good, and it seems they also incorporated practical effects into the show.
While it may not reach the same heights as Star Wars best series like The Mandalorian or Andor, it is a decent watch if you are a fan of the saga, or just in the mood for a simple, light-hearted adventure.

I understand I'm in the minority here, and maybe I'm just crazy, but I do not get the high praise of this film, or its predecessor for that matter.
I can't follow the plot at all or understand what's going on, there are a lot of different characters and factions, but I don't get their purpose or motivations. There is also very little action. It was so boring to watch and I'm not easily bored by films.
The visuals effects are very stunning, and it is very pleasant to look at, but besides that and some decent performances, there's not much going for it.
I had to watch this film in 2 sittings, which I never, ever do, not even for 3+ hour films. But I couldn't help myself here, as I was constantly checking how much time was left on the film.
It currently has a 8.5 on IMDb, which puts it in the same league as Alien, Back to the Future and The Lion King, but you're seriously telling me this film is on their level? With some films I don't like, I can at least understand how some people can enjoy them, but with this film I just don't see it.
Anyway I've had my rant, if you like this film then that's fine, but it's not for me and I'll never watch it again, and I'll certainly never understand how this film is the best film of 2024 and considered "cinema" by many.
