I am not the biggest action fan, but this was amazing! There is a funny yet relatively plausible storyline, the romance is believable, the soundtrack is awesome, the acting is excellent, the fights and major set-pieces were pretty epic and the stunties look like they went above and beyond for this! (Obviously, they usually do anyway, but The Fall Guy showcased them perfectly!)
Of course, Jean-Claude steals the show, but I also loved the neon scenes & the karaoke scene. I'd already seen clips of the Sydney Harbour Bridge set-piece but seeing the whole thing & in context just put it on a whole other level.
One can't watch & discuss this film without mentioning the enormous role that stunt teams play in moviemaking. These people are exceptional (& a bit nuts), but they make movies so much more thrilling than they would otherwise be. They are the unsung heroes of the movies & I hope they will get more recognition from now on (come on the Oscars etc, give the stunties the respect & awards they deserve!)

I was very wary of watching this especially due to having watched Miyamoto last night & its blunt nature but this is a beautiful film despite dealing with difficult topics. Yes, there is a scene or two that may be triggering but they are shot in a tactful way with quite quick edits & it doesn't last that long unlike in Miyamoto.
The beginning is intriguing & within around half an hour we get into the main body of the film which is about two young people escaping their dismaying lives as well as the police. There is most definitely a Bonnie & Clyde/Thelma & Louise vibe to it but at the same time it is really different. I believe this is about discovering yourself & a pure relationship/love.
The acting was phenomenal and the scenery is breathtaking; it does have a slightly ambiguous ending but there's also a revelation right at the end which is very emotional and makes you think about fate & life coming full circle. Overall, I think this is a beautiful, emotional, touching & thought-provoking story that will stay with me for a while.
