Family Guy: And Then There Were Fewer (2010)
Season 9, Episode 1

They Can Still Make Amazing Episodes
18 February 2025
For me, the quality of Family Guy went down a lot in Season 8, but they can still make really amazing episodes, this one being an example.

This was a great start to Season 9, and iirc the third one with James Woods in it. Peter gets invited by Woods to go to a special dinner in his honour, where it turns out that he has actually invited almost everyone in Quahog to make amends for what he has done to them in the past. Then, Quagmire's annoying guest Stephanie suddenly gets murdered, followed by James Woods.

This is a murder mystery episode, and not one where at the end one character says 'WOAH GUYS! THIS WAS ALL A GAME!', no, the characters that die here are gone from the rest of the series.

10/10

P. S. Do not expect the same level of quality from all other Season 9 episodes.

Worst Episode So Far, By Far
17 February 2025
Warning: Spoilers
Peter's boss rapes him and no one will help him, and everyone makes fun of him for it. His wife, Lois, is not even slightly concerned that someone is harassing him. Then Angela (Peter's boss) tries to kill herself (!) and because of that Peter sleeps with her under a different name. She sees through that and as Peter leaves she says: "See you on Monday, Griffin".

You'd think that they'd make a point in this episode about how everyone should be treated as seriously as each other in these cases, but no! The point is that you should let women harass you and then rape you under threat that they kill themselves.

Each and every person involved in the making of this episode should be ashamed, this is the worst episode too by far, to the extent where the 2nd worst one is a 6/10.

Cringe
15 February 2025
It's 2 AM and I'm writing this on my phone. Telling you all this just to show how dedicated I am and how strong I feel about how cringe this episode is. I feel like this show how descended from great episodes always to very hit or miss episodes.

This is a big miss. Every joke seems forced and is unfunny, and the karaoke part lasts too long and is not very good at all.

The only thing about this episode that makes it stick out is that it furthers the plot a lot with Bernardette telling the rest of the cast that she is pregnant, which is not done well anyways. I swear that there are 2 show writers. One is a genius and the other is a 50 year old morbidly obese person on acid. This episode was written by the latter.

I've Always Wanted To Be A Moviegoer
11 February 2025
I loved this film - the pacing, acting, characters and story were amazing. My problem was that I couldn't really sympathize with any of the characters as they were murderers - still, you're not really supposed to. Another problem, similar to the one I just said is that like my father, I think that all cocaine and heroine abusers are losers, with the exception of young adults who just made bad decisions.

These are just minor problems that didn't greatly effect my viewing experience.

Scorsese always makes incredible films ('Casino', 'Shutter Island') and this is (so far) the second best one I've seen.

Superb Concept Album Makes It To The Big Screen
8 February 2025
'The Wall' and 'TDSOTM' made me like concept albums. The plot of 'The Wall' (the album) is really interesting and well made, so it's a good choice for being made into a film.

The music is the best I've seen in a film, Comfortably Numb is one of my favourite songs. I also love the songs 'In The Flesh?' and the similarly named 'In The Flesh'.

Just like the album, the plot is about a rock star named Pink who, after experiencing many traumas and hardships in his life, as well as doing lots of drugs, starts to build a metaphorical wall around himself, representing how he wants to isolate himself and not contact the outside world.

Microscopic Star Wars
8 February 2025
Lois and Peter contemplate having another baby after Peter delivers the baby of Lois' sister, Carol. Stewie wants to hog up all of his parents attention, and so, tries to stop them from conceiving another child by putting himself in a microscopic spaceship and going into Peter's body.

This is the first episode including Bertram, Stewie's unborn brother, which is a character that is not very present or explored in the series.

The best season 3 episode so far, and in the top 10 in the series so far too. Stewie is an amazing character so I almost always love the episodes where he's the main character.

Family Guy: Road to Rhode Island (2000)

The First 'Road To' Episode
6 February 2025
There are quite a few episodes of Family Guy that are based on adventure with Brian and Stewie, and their episode titles start with 'road to'. This is the first one and it absolutely slaps.

The intro is amazing, so is the musical number at the end of the episode. Seth MacFarlane has a really great voice.

Brian and Stewie's characters have good chemistry, and I personally like them more than Peter. So far, this is the best episode of season 2, and better than any season 1 episode.

Stewie and Brian have to fly back to Rhode Island, but their tickets and possessions are stolen. We also find out Brian's backstory.

Family Guy: Brian: Portrait of a Dog (1999)

Amazing
5 February 2025
This is the best episode of Season 1 Family Guy. It gives a backstory to how Brain became a member of the Griffin family, and also adds insight to Brian as a character.

It's also a really great episode in general. Brian refuses to be treated like a second class citizen, and leaves the Griffins, where he can't even roam the streets on his own, and can't even walk into stores as they don't allow dogs.

There isn't just a good story, but a funny episode as well. Sadly, in the later seasons Brian gets a lot lamer and becomes more watered down as you begin to look at him with contempt. Still a great character, but... man, he got so much worse.

Better Than The Simpsons
4 February 2025
I feel like even though both shows fell from grace, Family Guy retained way more of its quality.

Opinions on this show are very divided, with many hating it, many loving it and many who just really hate the new seasons, but I love the whole show (the first few seasons most).

Now, about this ripping off 'The Simpsons', maybe in the beginning it sort of did, but there are quite a few differences. Bart, Lisa and Maggie are very different than Chris, Meg and Stewie. This show is also more out there.

I've been watching this show for a long time and have seen every episode twice, it never gets old.

Huge Waste Of Ricky's Talent
4 February 2025
Ricky Gervais is a comical genius, but his style of comedy doesn't translate well into 'The Simpsons'. Ricky specializes in cringe/awkward comedy and 'The Simpsons' is just cringe.

You know modern Simpsons is bad when even Gervais can't save it.

Also, I hate to get carried away but the featured review seriously says: 'I don't see why Ricky Gervais was even asked to write an episode; his feeble attempts at comedy'. That is the most L take I've seen in my whole life. Dislikes warranted.

This episode parodies those 'Wife Swap' shows no one really talks about. Nothing really happens. Blah blah blah filler words.

Spielberg's Second Best, In My Opinion
2 February 2025
I watched this film a few months ago, and I still remember what an amazing movie this is, although not all that much of the plot. 'Saving Private Ryan' shows the brutality of war and also has an incredible story outside of just that.

About the violence, for me it wasn't all so bad, except for the opening scene where all of those soldiers where losing their limbs, that was depressing. The ending, which I won't spoil, is bittersweet and really well done.

Tom Hanks is also great in this film, he's a great actor in general. Oh, and yes, my favourite Steven Spielberg movie is 'Schindler's List'

Best Film I've Seen This Year So Far
2 February 2025
2025 has just begun, but I feel like I've already seen the best film I will watch in the whole year. Also the best thriller I've seen.

The film is about two US Marshalls who go to a mental institution on an island and one of them starts to believe that they perform horrible experiments on the patients there while also grieving over his dead wife.

The pacing is great and the story is super interesting. I didn't feel like stopping the film for intermission until I remembered about *having* an intermission 90 minutes in! The way everything is done is amazing. Scorsese is truly a genius.

Worst Episode Of The Series
25 January 2025
There are many episodes of Sonic Boom that leave you wishing that they had just decided to make the episodes 22 minutes and not 11 so they wouldn't go like this:

PROBLEM HAPPENS! Oh no! They try to solve it and fail. They try to solve it again and succeed. Hero says one-liner at villain.

It's not like this with all 11 minute episodes, most make really good use of their limited time, it's just that it's hard for you to not feel like you've just wasted your time. I'm not sure why, but this episode in particular makes me feel that I'm wasting my time and that there's no point. There aren't even any jokes. This episode is bad and that's it.

4/10

Actually, I'm surprised that the worst episode is only a 4. Not a 3 or 2.

One Of The Most Mid Sonic Boom Episodes
25 January 2025
There are some episodes that you watch and just have to say: why did I watch this? There's no change in characters and nothing interesting happens aside from a couple of jokes.

All that happens is that Tails makes a robot and it's meant to be a universal translator but also says what people really mean when what they're saying doesn't need to be translated (aka: English).

Then Eggman dupes it out for a replica of the same robot except he controls it to break up Sonic's group. Tails figures it out. And removes it. That's all.

Unless you're trying to watch and rate all of the episodes, I advise you just skip this one. It is a waste of time.

Brilliant, But A Little Too Awkward At Times
22 January 2025
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this show, it was amazing. Ricky Gervais is not only a great actor, but an incredible director, writer and comedian.

The show relies on cringe-comedy, which means awkward and absurd situations with funny timings. This show has that. For an example, in one episode, Maggie invites a guy to her house, and she owns a golliwog doll on her shelf.

The problem here is that the person she invites to her house is black and might see the doll and gets worried he will be offended so she tries to remove it but gets caught and it's both awkward and hilarious.

You laugh at the characters' pain and misery while also rooting for them. This show has two modes, the mode where it's trying to make you feel bad for the characters' sad lives and the mode where it makes you laugh at their sadness.

Amazing show.

Good, But You're Mental If You Give This Anything Higher Than A 7
22 January 2025
This is a good show, with quite a few great episodes, sadly, with each great episode comes 10 mediocre ones. I'd say even my '7' rating is quite generous.

The show being self aware is usually funny but that doesn't make the FACT that it's self aware funny. It pulls it of well but the idea that the characters 'know' they're in a show isn't inherently witty, and in my opinion, makes you lose interest in the story.

But Sonic Boom does it well, you have to admit. You also have the quality difference in between seasons. Season 1 is not at all as good as season 2.

And for people giving this a 10... 'The Shawshank Redemption' is a 10, 'The Green Mile' is a 10 and 'L. A. Confidential' is a 10.

You can not say that the quality of this show even compares to those films (I'd use shows instead of films, but I don't watch too many shows anyways).

With all that said, this was a good show and I enjoyed it.

Best Episode Of The Series So Far
19 January 2025
This episode was amazing and the only episode (so far) that I can rate a nine, it has some really great lines and added 2 quotes to the IMDb page, which are the only 2 quotes...

This weird aardvark guy called Mark who's obsessed with Sonic becomes his agent and tries to take control of his life and tries to isolate him from his friends and does it by purposely injuring Sonic and reads him his annoying fan-fiction.

This episode effectively sums up every community where the fanbase is really annoying and never shuts up about how much they like a show and also write creepy and disgusting fan-fiction about it.

Decent Episode
18 January 2025
Nearly every pilot is considerably worse than the rest of the series, and this is no exception. The jokes are good and it was very nostalgic as I had seen this episode a few years ago on Netflix when I was 7 and easier to entertain. The story is good too, but with such a short runtime it's hard to make an actually compelling story.

It also sets the tone for the rest of the series very well. A fourth wall breaking silly series for kids.

Basically, Tails gets hurt in battle and Sonic fires him as his sidekick and tries to find a new sidekick, only for Tails, Dr Eggman and this weird anthropomorphic beaver to be the only candidates.

Psycho (1960)

Not Scary For Today's Standards, But Incredible For Its Time
1 January 2025
'Psycho' is an amazing film that still holds up after nearly 65 years. Still, today we have so much gorier things that older horror films become less unnerving.

Storywise, this movie is really great, it's about a secretary who embezzles 40,000 dollars from her boss and goes to a hotel in the middle of nowhere owned by a man and his mother.

It's also impressive how Alfred Hitchcock made a really good slasher film despite not having much gore in the film. This was my first actual horror film (prioritizes horror) so I'm not exactly qualified to judge horrors.

Overall, this film was great and I definitely recommend it as a film for people who want to watch horror films but don't have a high gore tolerance.

Amazing Comedy
25 December 2024
I think we can all agree that this film is hilarious. The humour is what carries the movie.

Willie starts out as a pessimistic criminal who hates his life, has a drinking addiction, is a pervert and a horrid person in general with no respect for anyone. Still, we root for him as he is this way because of his rough upbringing. Marcus is a 3 foot dwarf who works with Willie every year on Christmas. Willie gets a job as mall Santa, and Marcus his elf. They then rob the mall.

The Kid is an overweight little boy who lives with his grandma and eventually befriends Willie. He is an especially funny character. Some of the best jokes I've heard in comedy films (the type where comedy takes over the plot).

Not Bad
20 December 2024
I watched this for a school outing with my friends. We were joking around the whole film and the people around us were laughing too so no one's experience was tainted.

I thought this film would be a film for babies where a talking bear prances around and makes friends while talking about making friends and there's a big meanie who kicks the bear in the nuts or something and hates Paddington because he's different but then everyone learns to accept their differences.

I was definitely wrong about one thing. The plot was actually fun and the film was quite funny all throughout. I didn't enjoy the film as much as some other people do because I generally watch films *above* my age like 'The Hunt' (2012) and 'Oppenheimer' so something way below my age was not that enjoyable for me.

It was still fun to watch and probably the best cinema experience I've had as I was with my friends. Also, I never go to the cinema that much so it's not really a high bar.

Overall, a decent film.

They Pulled Themselves Together For One Last Episode
18 December 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This show was amazing although experienced a massive quality decline in the last couple of seasons. Season 12 was just plain bad.

This is not the last episode, but the 2nd last episode. Still, I'd call it the last episode due to the fact that 'The Stockholm Syndrome' doesn't contain the characters we've grown to love.

This is an amazing and heartfelt episode and a great finale to the show. While we don't know what happens to the TBBT characters when they're old, it gives us well enough for a satisfying ending.

I especially love how it contains all that happens in the past 12 years. How Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Raj have grown.

Perfectly Mid
18 December 2024
I don't know. It feels like a feature length Dhar Mann film. On one hand, It's not really compelling, doesn't hook you in, doesn't have good jokes and the music is way too intense for what actually happens in the film.

On the other hand, the movie is too short to be boring and has all the necessary things for a film. It's just so average.

It also feels really low budget. Almost like a YouTube video. While watching it in school I had that YouTube video feeling.

Again, it's just over before it even begins. The characters have struggles and then are solved with not all that much struggle. Overall, an absolutely inoffensive film for little kids who haven't aged enough to critically think.

Good Job.
12 December 2024
Good job, writers of TBBT. You had a main conflict for season 12. It was all good. Then 3 episodes before the finale of one of the BIGGEST SHOWS *EVER* YOU SLOPPILY END IT. THIS IS HOW?! So, instead of using your brain to figure out a conclusion to this drama that is smart, funny and makes sense you end it with a dumb joke that isn't even funny.

The drama to your final season of a series running for 12 years is ended because of a character we have never even heard of and comes out of literally nowhere.

Good job dinguses in the writing squad for this show. This episode is exactly what is wrong with TBBT season 8 onwards.

Good But Disappointing
12 December 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I personally thought this movie wasn't as scary as I was led to believe. Horror isn't my genre as my parents don't let me watch many scary films. The only scary thing for me was the design of that monster that eats kids.

Here are my flaws with the film:

1. Why does Ofelia eat those grapes? It was a very stupid decision in such a delicate story where one minor mistake means death. Was there some magical entity or force? If so, maybe they could have shown her fighting the urge to eat those 2 grapes.

Otherwise, what the hell, Ofelia?

2. Why didn't Mercedes kill the Captain? Maybe she just didn't have the heart to murder someone? But if I was Mercedes I think I would have killed him after how he abused Ofelia and tortured his enemies. Of course, later on we needed the Captain to shoot Ofelia (more on that later).

3. So, when the faun told Ofelia to give up her brother for a drop of blood, why did she resist and start crying? Maybe she should have just reasoned with the faun and tried to talk him out of it.

4. Did Ofelia *really* offer her own blood? The captain just shot her and her blood dropped into the magic hole thingy but did she even intend for that?

5. Ofelia should have been killed by that child eating monster. Except, for some reason, it decided to wait and intimidate Ofelia.

6. Building on point 1, I don't really think she deserves that happy ending after causing the death of those 2 fairies. Maybe the faun kicks her in the pants or something.
